Loose adaptation of Abbé Prévost’s  novel Manon Lescaut, which has been transposed to a World War II setting.

Village girl, Manon,  is accused of collaborating with the Nazis and is rescued from imminent execution by a former French Resistance fighter.

The couple move to Paris, where they resort to profiteering,  prostitution and murder to survive.
